These sensuous stories explore a Caribbean world of yearnings and memory, of escape and return underpinned by the disturbing tensions wrought by religion, race, sexuality, and crime. One of Scott's earlier short stories won the Tom-Gallon Award and his novels have been long-listed for both the Whitbread Prize and the Booker Prize.
Lawrence Scott is an award-winning Caribbean novelist and short-story writer from Trinidad & Tobago. Three of his books have been shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize. He lives in London.
