RYAN AND RONNIE. Their first names are enough. And in the 1970s, they were household names, synonymous with the glamorous world of television cabaret and comedy. Ryan was the impish joker and tenor, Ronnie the handsome straight man and baritone. But for all their velvet harmony and polished banter, theirs was a double act which disguised deeper tensions.

This is a personal account of two very public figures, revealing previously untold stories from behind the scenes and the limelight, and offering a new insight into their lives and loves. From their first appearance together in 1967 to their separation before Ryan’s untimely death, we follow the twists and turns of Ryan and Ronnie’s journey, and look at the high price they paid for reaching the heights of fame

HYWEL GWYNFRYN has been one of the best-known names in the world of radio, television and entertainment in Wales for over half a century. A native of Anglesey, he lives in Cardiff with his wife, Anja, and works as a broadcaster and writer. He says he will have earned the title ‘author’ when he has written twenty books.  This is his third.
