John W. Schildt

John W. Schildt has written and lectured on Civil War subjects for half a century. He has participated in conferences and gatherings for years, including Dr. Gabor Boritt's Gettysburg Civil War Institute and Dr. James Robertson's "Campaigning with Lee." John has written twenty books on Antietam, Gettysburg, and Thomas A. Jackson. He is the national chaplain of the 29th Division Association and has led numerous tours to Normandy. He spoke at the 1994 Fiftieth Anniversary program in St. Lo with more than 3,000 persons in attendance. John is married, has three daughters, and currently resides in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
